*Gala Dinner - what a night!* More than 500 Foundation members, Federal and State politicians, Israeli Ambassador Amir Maimon and guest of honour, former US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, attended the Foundation’s Gala Dinner in May. We were thrilled to launch our Generation campaign at the dinner, with the project both about our once-in-many-generations opportunity to relocate Mount Scopus College to Caulfield, and the construction of the Centre for Jewish Life, which will radically change the trajectory of the Victorian Jewish community for the better. Guests were also treated to memorable musical performances from our school choir, as well as a great discussion between Ambassador Haley and former Australian Ambassador to Israel, Dave Sharma.

Over 200 graduates from years 1959 - 2018 gathered in the Gerald and Ray Rose Hall to hear Sue Hampel OAM (OC 1973) moderate a panel of Old Collegians speculating on "Australia in the next twenty years: How do we prepare for what's next?" Speakers included Jodie Auster (OC 1994) General Manager of Uber Eats ANZ, Dean Cohen (OC 2009) CEO of Flying Fox, Dr Jack Felman (OC 1966) GP and comedian, Keren Ludski (OC 1985) CEO of Red Nose Australia and Tracie Olcha (OC 1987) CEO of Australian Jewish Funders. Stylish displays curated by organiser Tammy Lincoln from the artefacts of the Helen Synman Archive decorated each table and were on display.

About Scopus Foundation

What does the Foundation do?

The Mount Scopus College Foundation exists to support the work and goals of the School. Fee income cannot provide funds for development, and so Scopus relies on the Foundation to support its aims and help deliver its vision into reality. Funds raised assist with the advancement of all facilities and various programs including our Year 10 Israel Experience.

Tuition fee relief programs and bursaries are also significantly supported by the Foundation. The Foundation is also committed to building a substantial Endowment Fund to help secure the future. The goals of the Foundation are pursued by an Executive Committee, in consultation with the Principal and College President. Since 1987, through the generosity of donors, bequestors and dedicated volunteers, $54,000,000 has been raised and applied to campus programs and projects.
